Fundraising for Greenwood Elementary
The Greenwood Elementary PTA is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support to our students, teachers and staff. Each year, the PTA collaborates with staff and families to map out programs, positions and opportunities we believe will strengthen our community. We’ve been able to maintain these priorities year after year because of the incredible participation of our Greenwood families in our fundraising activities.
The PTA funds over 50 annual events and programs as well as staff support, including, but not limited to:
- Dance program
- Instrumental music teacher
- Vocal music program
- Student care advocate
- Greenwood Garden
- Playground supervision
- Librarian
- Buses for field trips
- Additional school supplies
- Science and math program (STEM)
We want to thank everyone in advance for contributing your time or resources to keep these activities funded.
“Write the Greenwood Star Story” Giving Campaign (October 1-29, 2021): This is our biggest fundraiser in a non-auction year with a month-long campaign to “Show Greenwood Some Love.” Each week students will vote on the Greenwood Stars’ favorite activity. Other events included in this year’s Giving Campaign are trivia night, bingo and more. We will also be raffling off two opportunities to be “Principal for a Day”! Keep an eye out for all the great ways you and your family can participate.
Move-a-Thon (May 13, 2022): This community event is always a great time as family and friends cheer on their child’s classroom as they raise money for Greenwood. Throughout the school day, classroom after classroom take the playground over and move their hearts out. Teachers and staff (and even family members!) typically join in the fun! Each child is encouraged to set their own fitness and nutrition goals, which are posted on the bulletin board to inspire the entire school.
Sign-Up Events (Spring, 2022 coinciding with Dance Night): These popular events are varied, some for parents, some for kids and some for the entire family. Events in the past have included Moms’ Back-to-School Cocktail Night, kids’ movie night, Hoop & Stoup, Greenwood Pajamarama, kids’ scavenger hunt, etc. For a nominal fee, you/your child can join friends for a fun evening.
